Banks is best known for his iconic save against Brazilian legend Pelé in the 1970 FIFA World Cup quarter-final. In addition to his World Cup exploits, Banks made over 700 appearances for various English clubs, including Leicester City, Stoke City, and West Bromwich Albion. He also represented England 73 times.
