Tanner Banks Optioned to Charlotte
Jake Burger Reinstated from 10-Day Injured List
The Chicago White Sox announced a pair of roster moves on Friday, optioning right-handed pitcher Tanner Banks to Triple-A Charlotte and reinstating infielder Jake Burger from the 10-day injured list.
Banks, 27, has made four appearances out of the White Sox bullpen this season, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings pitched.
Burger, 27, has been out since May 15 with a left hamstring strain. He was hitting .241/.313/.500 with four home runs and 13 RBIs in 27 games prior to the injury.
With Burger's return, the White Sox now have a full complement of infielders on their active roster. Andrew Vaughn has been playing first base in Burger's absence, while Josh Harrison and Leury Garcia have been splitting time at second and third base.
The White Sox are currently 25-27 on the season and are in fourth place in the AL Central, 6 1/2 games behind the first-place Minnesota Twins.
The White Sox will open a three-game series against the Detroit Tigers at home on Friday night.
